Meet the team

Joel Radvanyi – Founder/Instructor
Joel started TechLabs in January, 2016 to pursue his interest in helping to develop the next generation of computer and programming savvy kids. Joel brings over 20 years of professional experience with programming, data science and institutional-scale technology solutions. He holds a Masters of Business Administration Degree from NYU’s Stern School of Business (1996) in Finance and Statistics, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Rutgers University in History and Political Science (1991).

Christopher Wachtler – Instructor
Chris grew up bilingually (English / German) in Switzerland and is a student at Basel University working on a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography and History. He has spent the past year doing an internship at a primary school and has an avid interest in computers, media, politics and sports.

Ana Laura Rivarola – Instructor
Ana is a professional photographer, and has been working with multicultural children in Latin America, Asia and Europe. She has a four-year degree from university in Paraguay in Public Relations and Popular Education. She has been successfully integrating her knowledge of languages and interest in technology, photography and education as an instructor in the TechLabs program.

Thomas Koch – Instructor
Tom started working with TechLabs in September, 2016 to train the next generation of computer and programming savvy kids. Tom brings over 25 years of professional experience with programming, data services and teaching on primary and secondary school level. He has studied business economics at HWS Basel, methods & didactics at EHB Bern and is an ECDL examiner.

Miles Prinzen – Instructor
Miles has been tinkering with computers from a young age, always fascinated to pick up new tech-related knowledge. Growing up in Melbourne, he scored in the top 2% for VCE Software Development before returning to his home town of Basel in 2014. Miles is currently reading for a Bachelor of Physics at the Universität Basel, continuing to study programming as a part of his degree.

Jacob Dixon – Instructor
Jacob began working with TechLabs in the Spring of 2016. He also works as an English teacher at two bilingual schools in Basel and is currently finishing up his graduate studies in mathematics. Jacob is also in his 15th year as an industry recognized radio broadcast personality.

Enrique Callirgos – Geneva Regional Director
Enrique is an educator from Spain who has worked with children and youth for over 15 years. Enrique’s parents were both professional programmers and sparked his interest in computers and coding at an early age. Prior to joining the TechLabs team, Enrique was working as a programmer for five years at IMS health developing CRM tools. He has combined both his passion for teaching and technology during his career, and is an experienced manager of teams, instructors and educators.

Katie Green – Instructor
Katie has been excited about STEAM education since her first high school job at an interactive science museum. After learning to code while studying psychology and developmental cognitive science, Katie spent her post-college years in neuroimaging research. There, she found a passion for computational data analysis and has since worked in the field at a startup incubator, a healthcare services company, and in the pharmaceutical industry. She’s currently continuing her education in Psychosoziale Beratung at the Fachhochschule Nordwestschweiz.
